LET’S GET SOCIABLE
You’ve heard other members comment they don’t know enough of our other members. Or, they question how you know so many golfers from other leagues. There’re two easy solutions to this issue – participate and be sociable – and four ways to do it. See below:
Saturday Mixers: These Association League outings are played the second Saturday of the months of November-April. Look for the bright green sign-up sheet on our smaller bulletin board. You will meet players from other leagues and may even play with a Quail member that you haven’t met before. This event is played in a four-person Scramble format. You don’t need to be a par golfer. You need to want to meet more golfers and have an enjoyable round of golf. Nine holes are played, some at Executive courses and some at Regulation courses. You choose when/where you want to play. This outing is a month-to-month choice. You will pay green fees and $1 Sweeps on the day of play. Questions? See our Saturday Mixer committee coordinator.
Thursday Team Play: Another chance to meet golfers from other leagues and possibly play with a Quail member you haven’t met before. This is a Match Play format played at Executive and Regulation courses. Two players from Quail Run will compete against two players from another league. These outings are in January, February and March each year. You will pay $2 in advance to be eligible to play, plus green fees and $1 Sweeps on the day of play. Questions? Social Tuesdays: Sign up to furnish goodies on a Social Tuesday. These socials are held January, February, March, April, November and December. It isn’t required but highly suggested that no less than eight members volunteer to provide refreshments on the first Tuesday of these months. If your team signs up with another team (or two) you just may get acquainted with someone you didn’t know before. And, always, stick around after golf on these days, enjoy the refreshments and introduce yourself to someone you haven’t had the pleasure of previously meeting.
Membership Meetings and Luncheons: Our Membership Breakfast meetings are in February and November. These are informational gatherings to ensure you know what is happening in our league and possibly what’s happening in the world of golf. Fifty-fifty drawings are held.
Luncheons are in April and December. These are intended to be fun events, and our Social Committee works hard to make them enjoyable, so come join us!
